Playbook designer
Design plays, not pictures
A designed play has structure: steps, timing, actions with names, a category in the playbook. Coach Play Studio keeps all of that as data, which is why one design can animate, print, embed and export as video.

Design tools
Start from a real set
New plays can start from a named alignment with five players already on the floor, so designing begins at the interesting part.
Design in steps
A play is a sequence of steps, each a full snapshot with its own note and timing. Paused, a step reads exactly like a page of a paper playbook.
A real vocabulary
Actions carry the labels coaches say out loud: curl, backdoor, flare, slip, roll, skip, pin-down, ball screen. The design speaks basketball.
Filed the way you teach
Plays are filed under real categories: BLOB, SLOB, Horns, Motion, Zone Offense, Press Break, Transition, ATO, Late Game and more, with tags on top.
Every design animates
The moment a play is drawn it runs with real timing, so you watch the set breathe before practice does, and fix what does not work.
The design travels
The same design becomes a share link, a printable picture, an embed or a video. You design once; the formats are outputs, not extra work.
Why structure beats drawing
Anyone can animate a single play; playbook apps have done it for years. The difference is what the play is underneath. A picture is finished the moment you draw it. A structured play keeps working: new formats, new outputs, the same source.

Frequently asked questions
What makes a playbook designer different from a drawing app?
A drawing app saves pictures. A playbook designer stores plays as structured steps with timing and labels, so each design can animate, print, embed and export video from one source.
Can I design a full playbook on the free plan?
Free keeps three plays, enough to design a set and see how the Studio works. Unlimited plays and drills are on the Coach plan at $9 a month or $90 a year.
Can I print the plays I design?
Any step saves as a sharp 1920 pixel image, big enough to print and pin up in a locker room. Included on the free plan.
Do designs work on tablets and phones?
Yes. The editor is touch first, so you can design on an iPad or a phone, and everybody you share with views the finished, animated play on anything with a browser.
Design your first set free
Three free plays is a set and two counters. Design them, watch them run, and decide if your playbook deserves structure.
